Digital Signage

Introduction

Imerys, a global leader in mineral-based specialty solutions, needed a modern, cost-effective digital signage system for its U.S. corporate office in Roswell, GA. The installation would support both public-facing and internal content, including a 2×2 video wall in the main lobby showcasing company services and an internal display in the break room highlighting employee news, statistics, and project updates. The goal was to streamline content management while maintaining high security and centralized control.

The Challenge

Prior to this project, Imerys relied on a cloud-based digital signage platform that incurred rising monthly fees for each additional media player and license. Management of the system was cumbersome, and reliability concerns posed potential challenges as the company planned to expand digital signage to multiple regional offices. Key requirements included:

  • Centralized control of multiple displays
  • Secure access with differentiated user permissions
  • Easy scalability for phased deployments across multiple locations
  • Reduced operational and maintenance costs

The existing solution forced staff and integrators to continually manage licensing and fees while troubleshooting performance issues, creating inefficiencies and additional costs. Imerys sought a solution that was secure, easy to manage, and highly reliable.

The Solution

Imerys partnered with PureLink integrator Syncomation, based in Atlanta, to deploy the PureLink MPX-100 II Total Signage Solution. The system includes the MPX-100 II media player and the MPX Management Software Suite, offering a fully integrated, UHD-compatible digital signage platform.

The MPX-100 II addresses Imerys’ challenges by providing:

  • No monthly licensing fees — reducing long-term operational costs
  • Centralized control and security — corporate IDs and user permissions managed from a single server
  • Rapid scalability — adding new locations is a simple 30-second process
  • Flexible content access — remote media upload, playlist management, and performance monitoring via Wi-Fi, LAN, or USB
  • Local storage options — 1GB built-in memory plus a key-lock SD card slot supporting up to 128GB

“Implementing PureLink’s MPX solution allowed us to achieve full in-house control while ensuring security and reliability,” said Collin Smerk, CFO at Syncomation. “Adding players for new locations is almost instantaneous, which makes scaling simple and cost-effective.”

Syncomation also leveraged PureLink’s proven expertise in AV distribution for video walls and displays. “We have been using PureLink extenders, splitters, and chassis-based switchers for video distribution for years, and their reliability is unmatched,” said Dwayne Murphree, CEO of Syncomation. “Once PureLink products are installed, downtime is virtually nonexistent.”

The Result

With PureLink’s MPX-100 II system in place, Imerys now benefits from a highly secure, centrally managed, and scalable digital signage network. The solution reduced operational costs, simplified deployment across multiple locations, and ensured consistent, high-quality content delivery for both public and internal-facing displays.
