Inside EKC’s Immersive Demo Space:
Seamless AV over IP Meets Smart Control
Digital Signage

Introduction

Founded in 2023, EKC Technology, Inc. has quickly built a reputation for delivering high-performance digital signage and AV solutions, particularly in the education sector. As part of their growth strategy, EKC sought to elevate their demo capabilities by building an in-house display comparison system that would allow clients to see a real-time side-by-side comparison of different LED brands in action. To bring this ambitious vision to life, they turned to PureLink.

The Challenge

EKC needed a seamless way to deliver synchronized 4K60 video to multiple LED displays across their warehouse. The goal was to create a compelling, high-impact demo environment where customers could walk through and compare picture quality, color depth, and display performance across different brands.

However, with several concurrent projects in motion, scalability and simplicity were key. EKC needed a system that would not only deliver high-end AV over IP but also reduce the programming load on their head engineer.

The Solution

Flynn Kelly, Director of Sales at EKC Technology, led the project with a focus on selecting AV components that would be powerful, reliable, and intuitive. With support from PureLink’s technical team, Kelly deployed a system utilizing three VIP-T400 encoders and fifteen VIP-T400 decoders, powered via PoE through a VIP-NET-2404PL3-1G network switch. This AV over IP backbone distributed the same 4K60 video feed simultaneously to each LED display for easy, accurate comparisons.

To control the setup, EKC implemented PureLink’s award-winning iCON-T10 touch panel, to effortlessly switch sources and monitor each decoder’s signal status and refresh rate in real time. This combination created a highly versatile and interactive demo space, giving EKC and their clients full command over every display on the floor.

The Result

The integration of PureLink products exceeded expectations. The ease of use, preconfigured settings, and robust documentation made installation fast and intuitive—something the technical team deeply appreciated. In a space designed to impress and educate, the VIP-T400 endpoints and VIP-NET-2404PL3-1G network switch delivered on every front with reliable performance and stunning video quality, all effortlessly controlled and managed through iCON.

Further, the iCON control system opened the door for longer-term workflow improvements at EKC. Lead programmer Robert Charos saw potential in iCON’s EZControl software to ease the programming burden that typically falls solely on his shoulders. With a small team familiar with Crestron and Q-SYS, Robert noted that iCON’s simplicity may allow his technicians to handle future control projects more independently, creating new efficiencies and growth opportunities for the company.

The Review

What I love most about PureLink is how complete their ecosystem is. The VIP-T400s were incredibly easy to deploy and manage. The iCON-T10 gave us total control of every display and source, and the PoE switch made everything so clean and efficient. We didn’t need to piece things together from different brands or spend hours reprogramming. PureLink just worked – and that was exactly what we needed.

But what really made a difference was the iCON platform. After just a 90-minute demo, I knew this was something our team could adopt. What’s exciting is the idea that we could start training more of our techs to manage installations from start to finish – something we haven’t been able to do before with other systems. If my guys can start taking on projects with iCON, that opens up so many more opportunities for EKC. It’s a huge step forward.
