Introduction
Founded over a century ago, Antioch Church Baptist Church North is a historic landmark in Georgia. From its modest beginnings in a basement in the late 1800s, the church has grown to a thriving congregation of 14,000 members in a multi-level sanctuary. With this growth, the church recognized the need to enhance its audio and video capabilities to ensure high-quality, reliable presentations across its expansive campus.
The Challenge
The Solution
Antioch Church partnered with AEE Productions, based in Lithia Springs, GA, renowned for solving complex AV system challenges. The project was led by Mark Howard, Vice President of Operations, who brought 27 years of AV experience to the design.
The solution centered on PureLink’s PureStream™ line of AV over IP encoders, decoders, and network switches, known for reliability and performance. VIP-300H-U encoders delivered 4K HDMI and USB/KM over IP with PoE, connecting multiple sources to displays across the campus via category cables and fiber interlinks between VIP-NET-2404PP-1G network switches. Transmitters were configured to separate output stream channels, and receivers were matched to their signals. The AV over IP system went online quickly and has operated flawlessly since installation.
In the sanctuary control room, additional PureLink equipment enabled centralized switching and distribution. At the core is the SX-8800, an 8×8 HDMI 2.0b Matrix Seamless Switcher, complemented by the UHD2-140 distribution amplifier. PureLink’s iCON-10W 10-Button Programmable LAN/RS232 Controller allowed the tech team to quickly route signals to the sanctuary’s four large projection screens and confidence monitors through preset automation.
The Result
With PureLink solutions in place, Antioch Church now delivers high-quality, reliable AV across its sanctuary and campus. The AV over IP distribution, combined with matrix switching and intuitive control, allows seamless operation for live services and presentations. The system’s reliability and ease of use have streamlined operations and positioned the church as a model for advanced AV deployment in large worship environments.
The Review
Reliability was key in our decision to go with PureLink’s AV over IP, matrix switchers, and control solutions. The system proved to be incredibly reliable and easy to set up, and the live, knowledgeable tech support was a tremendous help. AEE has been installing PureLink products in houses of worship and various other applications for years. Due to their reliability, performance, and ease of use, we have standardized on PureLink. The addition of the iCON-10W controller has been particularly beneficial for its ease of programming and effectiveness. PureLink products will continue to be a staple in our solutions offerings.
